The Institute for the Future of Work (IFOW) is thrilled to announce the placement of four built environment graduates with one of their industry partners, Elethu Integration Services (EIS).

February 2024 marked the beginning of a year-long internship that will provide real-world industry experience for four TUT graduates who have qualifications in Civil Engineering and Quantity Surveying, respectively. These budding professionals will have the chance to immerse themselves in hands-on projects, gaining invaluable insights into the complexities and nuances of their industry. Under the mentorship of seasoned experts, they will have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge to practical scenarios, honing their skills and expanding their understanding of their sector.

The collaboration between IFOW and EIS underscores their shared commitment to ensuring our youth have industry relevant skills and exposure. As a global ideation hub whose work is predicated on public and private partnerships, IFOW works to forge partnerships that will provide students with access to real-world experiences, skills that are aligned to industry 4.0 and connection to industry networks. The aim is to equip students with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to thrive in the competitive and ever-changing landscape of the world of work.

As advocates for experiential learning and professional development, TUT is excited to witness the growth of Ms Nolwethu Nkosi, Ms Lerato Matsiana, Mr Nhlalala Baloyi and Ms Kebogile Ntono throughout their internship journey and beyond.

IFOW extends an open invitation to industry role players across all sectors to engage with them for similar and other opportunities, including research and thought leadership sessions focused on the future of work.
