Influencing the curriculum discourse to produce future ready graduates and engaging in training initiatives to upskill the current labour force through industry specific skills development programmes.

Future Dealership Women Management Development Programme

IFOW in partnership with the Automotive Industry Transformation Fund (AITF) and naamsa | The Automotive Business Council has launched a bespoke training programme that is set to initiate a transformative journey within the South African Automotive Industry.

The Future Dealership Women Management Development Programme seeks to defy conventional norms, shatter barriers, and instigate remarkable advancements within the sector by equipping a cohort of exceptional participants with the proficiency to establish and manage their own automotive dealerships, demonstrating prowess as effective leaders.

The Future Dealership Women Management Development Programme represents a comprehensive 4-month management development curriculum, meticulously designed to bolster the presence of female entrepreneurs within automotive dealerships and to alleviate the underrepresentation of women and individuals of diverse backgrounds in the automotive domain.

The project was be officially launched on the 31st of August 2023 on the sidelines of NACAAM 2023 Show at Sun Bet Arena. The programme will start on the 17th of October 2023.

Mindworx Academy X IFOW training initiative

IFOW’s mandate is interlinked with that of TUT, which is to create future ready graduates. Skills development is one of the methods we are using to achieve this goal.

IFOW has partnered with Mindworx Academy to increase the employability of unemployed TUT graduates by equipping them with digital skills that are required within industry. Pre-assessed, shortlisted TUT graduates who are unemployed will undergo a 1-year work readiness training programme. Successful candidates will then be placed within industry by Mindworx Academy.

The pilot project kicked off in August 2023; if successful, the initiative will be rolled out as a continuous initiative for the university.
