The world of work has changed. And it will continue to do so at a rapid pace thanks to the  uptake of exponential technologies like artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), machine learning (ML), block chain, the internet of things (IoT), 5G, robotics and  technologies still to be conceived.

Businesses are being disrupted and transformed and require new skills and solutions to ensure that they not only survive, but thrive in this new reality.

Established by the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), the Institute for the Future of Work (IFOW) draws together global academics, businesses, government and society to harness the possibilities presented by the digital economy.

The IFOW supports TUT’s vision of “a people’s university that makes knowledge work” by engaging in high-impact research, innovation, curricula development and thought leadership on 4IR and the Future of Work – all aimed at finding solutions to real-life challenges.
